Product Review: My Two-Week Experience with Advanced Snail Mucin Power Essence and Madagascar Centella Ampoule

As someone constantly seeing these products online, I was excited to try the Advanced Snail Mucin Power Essence by COSRX and Madagascar Centella Ampoule by Skin 1004. Thanks to K-Beauty, I had the opportunity to test these out, and after two weeks, I’ve already seen some noticeable changes. From smoother skin to minimized pores, here’s my honest experience with these products!

Initial Impressions

I’d heard a lot about both products before, particularly about how effective snail mucin is for improving skin texture and how centella asiatica can be soothing and healing for the skin. I’ve struggled with large pores, acne, and acne scars for a while, so I was hoping these products could help me with smoother, clearer skin.

The Snail Mucin Power Essence is surprisingly lightweight but I could immediately tell it provided a lot of hydration. It absorbed quickly into my skin, didn’t leave a greasy residue, and dried very fast (which is good for someone who’s impatient like me). I noticed that my skin felt softer almost immediately after using it.

The Madagascar Centella Ampoule is a bit thicker and more moisturizing, which I liked, especially for calming down any redness or irritation. I have sensitive skin, so it’s great to use something that’s both soothing and effective.

Week 1: Initial Impressions, Smoother Pores

I started incorporating both products into my routine—first the Snail Mucin Power Essence and then the Madagascar Centella Ampoule. 

By the end of the first week, I started to notice that my pores appeared smaller and my skin felt noticeably smoother and softer. On the acne side, after week 1 I did not expect much of a change, but I noticed my acne becoming a bit smaller and also blended more into my skin - more smoother i’d say. It wasn’t a drastic change, but enough to make me feel like this routine could be something I’d want to continue.

Week 2: More Progress

Fast forward to week two, and my pores are still visibly smaller. My skin feels like silk—smooth and soft to the touch. My acne became smaller and noticeably more hydrated , but because I have acne-prone skin - I am still battling new pimples that have popped up here and there (a usual for me).

The biggest improvement, though, has been in how my acne scars have started to blend more into my skin tone. While they’re not gone completely (and I didn’t expect them to be after just two weeks), they’ve become much less noticeable and less stark against the rest of my skin. This alone has made a huge difference in how I feel about my complexion.

What I Love About These Products

• Fast-drying: As someone impatient with my skincare, this was honestly a big plus for me. Both of these products, especially the snail mucin, were fast drying and convenient.

• Pore Refining: My pores have shrunk a little in just two weeks, which is a major win for me. My skin just feels smoother and looks clearer.

• Softness: Both products have helped make my skin softer, and I can definitely feel a difference in the texture.

• Acne Scars: While not completely gone, my acne scars have started to fade and blend in more, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

What I’m Still Working On

The things I’m still working on is my acne (I might have to switch up my cleansing routine) and acne scars, which will take more time and consistent use. But overall, I’m happy with the progress I’ve made in just two weeks.

Final Thoughts

So far, I’m really impressed with both of these products. My skin has never felt smoother, and I’m seeing gradual but noticeable improvements in my texture and overall appearance. These were the fastest results I have seen in a long time from any product and I’m excited to see how my skin continues to change with more time.
